Caleta de Chonis a small cove just outside the bay of Zihuatanejo. A shallow reef hugs the rocky beach and wraps around one half of the horse-shoe shaped cove.
Underwater rock formations are home to eagle rays, turtles, seahorses, stone fish, moray eels and a variety of tropical fish. Average depths are approximately 15-40 feet and perfect for beginner and experienced divers alike.
Zacatoso Reefis home to one of the largest beds of coral in the Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo region. This shallow dive spot (15-40ft) just in front of Ixtapa's main beach El Palmar is ideal for underwater photography as there are many different colors both in the coral and the fish life.
It is not uncommon to see lobster and other hard-shelled creatures here. Also a great spot for snorkelers. Fun for the whole family!
Solitary Rockis a conical rock formation located just outside of the Zihuatanejo bay. This rock is a favored spot for deep diving as the bottom portion can be found at downwards of 120ft.
Home to sea horses, white tip sharks, eagle rays and large schools of yellow fin tuna ... solitary rock is sure to be the highlight of your dive trip!
